Hey there, I am a young professional with project coordination experience in the Nonprofit world. I am passionate about environmental engagement and initiatives that are focused on the betterment of the environment. Working in the community and with people is my passion, although draining at times, it's beyond joyful seeing people engage with the environment.

I have developed a personal interest in urban agriculture and thoroughly enjoy influencing others to take part in gardening initiatives and becoming more self-sufficient with how they source their food. Additionally, having lived the majority of my life in Africa, I have seen the connection that people have with land there compared to here. This disparity is where I try to contribute my perspective and knowledge.

Having said this, my experience, along with my academic background in environmental management makes me a suitable candidate for any role that involves community, environment, and sustainability.

In my professional journey, I have worked closely with the community and different stakeholders. From the beginning as an urban agriculture specialist, the work I did focused on improving the operational landscape of the Maloca Community Garden. Here we created initiatives that engaged various volunteers in urban agriculture.

Beyond this role, I have worked in the nonprofit sector where I am a project coordinator. This entails creating programs/projects that aim at engaging Black and other equity-seeking communities in Toronto in environmental action. This has been through environmental education workshops, summer programs focused on urban agriculture, and exposing Black leaders to the effects of climate change in the Arctic through our partnership with Adventure Canada.

I have an honours degree from York University in Sustainable Environmental Management. This program helped me understand how the world has ended up in the climate crisis and also taught me concepts on how we can create a greener future for all.
