Hi, I’m Sheila — a passionate language interpreter dedicated to working with the community. With years of experience in health-related services, I thrive on turning innovative ideas into reality and driving success through strategic planning and execution.
My journey has taken me from working at Appletree Medical Group to MCIS, where I currently help bridge the gap that prevents adequate communication between patients and their healthcare providers. Along the way, I’ve honed my skills in communication and customer service, always aiming to deliver exceptional and positive results for patients to properly understand their medical needs.
What sets me apart? A relentless curiosity with a desire to acquire new skills, a commitment to excellence, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact. Whether it’s leading a team, optimizing processes, or spearheading new initiatives, I’m all about creating value and fostering growth.
Let’s connect and explore how we can collaborate to achieve great things together!
My experience as a Medical Assistant at Appletree Medical Group enhanced my teamwork abilities and strengthened my patience in customer service. It also highlighted my eagerness to learn through various training programs. Currently, as a Medical Interpreter at the Ottawa Hospitals, I have gained valuable insights into the impact of community work and the importance of supporting vulnerable individuals in accessing proper healthcare.
I earned a Bachelor of Science with Honours from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, where I majored in Life Sciences and minored in Psychology. I was named to the Dean's List in my final year. While attending Lisgar Collegiate Institute for high school, I consistently received the "Silver Medalist" award for maintaining a grade average of 90 percent or higher.
