Chun-Hin Shum(King Shum) had achieved a bachelor degree in music from the Royal Holloway, University of London,graduating in 2020. King studied traditional, modern and world music. Through studying musical texts, practices, cultures, and institutions he explored issues in history, sociology, ethnology, and philosophy covering an exceptional geographical and chronological range.
What is more, King gained practical skills in composition, music technology and performance. Most importantly, King learned conducting from Dr. John Traill, a visiting lecturer from the St Anne’s College, University of Oxford.
Beside studies, King was an active member of alto at the Chorus at Royal Holloway. Also, King learned flute with Alison Myles and he had performed flute recitals.
Later, King achieved a higher diploma in Wine and Beverage Business Management at the International Culinary Institute, Hong Kong. He had also achieved a Wine & Spirit Education Trust Level 2. Beside his studies, he played flute at the VTC symphony orchestra. What is more, King Shum has previously worked as a wine cellar specialist, wine customer service assistant, music consultant, music event assistant manager and music writer at a small music company.
