Translator, Proof-reader and Post-editor at Freelance (2019-08 – Present)

I currently work as a freelance translator, proof-reader and post-editor for several companies. In this capacity I translate a variety of documents (legal, medical, life sciences, technical), primarily from French, German, Spanish and Lithuanian into English. I also proofread translations completed by other translators and my work in this capacity has included subtitling, adapting texts, editing and post-editing.

European Union fonctionnaire juriste linguiste (Legal Translator) at Court of Justice of the European Union (2013-09 – 2022-10)

Having passed a concours (competition) in 2014, I worked as a European Union fonctionnaire juriste linguiste (legal translator) in the English language translation unit of the Court of Justice of the European Union. In this capacity I translated a variety of EU law documents, including judgments of the Court, from French, German, Lithuanian and Spanish into English.

• Member of the team responsible for introducing SDL translation software and Multiterm terminology software at the Court and training translators how to use this software
• In 2014 I was asked to learn Lithuanian and began translating Lithuanian texts in 2016
• In 2015 I was the terminology correspondent for the unit and worked on terminology projects with translators from other European Union institutions
• In 2016 I acted as the mentor for a stagiaire (trainee translator)

Voluntary French Teacher at Various (2004)

Teaching French on a voluntary basis to refugees arriving in Luxembourg, the aim being to help them integrate into Luxembourgish society.

Tutor at Various (2004)

Tutoring children aged between 7 and 18 in German, French and the piano. All my pupils successfully passed their exams.

Working as a German language assistant in a secondary school on a voluntary basis.
