After completing my Master's, I decided to develop my five years retail experience and become a Visual Merchandiser. Specialising in Homeware, creating tables capes to an exceptional standard.
Visual Merchandiser at Primark, where I am responsible for the mannequin styling, POS, window dressing, high level displays and overall merchandising of featured areas. Specialising in homeware and menswear, this also includes the added responsibility of tablescapes and room styling. I work as part of a larger team, coming together in order to launch larger trends.
However, the majority of the time I am working off of my own initiative and collaborating with staff outside the VM team in order to elevate the overall visual standard of the shop.
After completing my undergraduate degree in English Literature, I pursued a Master's of Science in Gender Studies (Research Methods) at the University of Strathclyde. Whilst studying for my Master's I was given the opportunity to complete a placement at the Glasgow Women's Library on behalf of the domestic violence charity Zero Tolerance. During this time, I categorised and organised their archives before completing an oral history project of the charities origins to add to it- as well as several other materials to fill the missing parts of the archive.
