Most recent experience: Comprehensive assessment and implementation of AAC systems for children with complex needs, including those with neurodivergence, physical and visual impairments, as well as adults with intellectual disabilities and progressive neurological conditions. Evidence-based support across education, community and care settings.
Provision of clinical leadership through supervision, coaching and AAC awareness training for SLTs, schools, day services and families.
Previous role: Worked across two specialist colleges for young adults with additional learning needs. Managing a caseload of learners with a range of speech, language and communication needs. Delivering social communication groups, SLT sessions embedded within education and individual SLT sessions based on the learners' needs.
This ranged from multi-sensory sessions focusing on using a total communication approach, to students developing appropriate communication skills for a workplace. Provided supervision for two junior SLTs and a SLT assistant.
