I am writing to express my strong interest in both 2nd Line Support and/or Network Engineer positions within your organization. With a First-Class Honours bachelor's degree in computer science from the University of Hertfordshire, I possess a solid understanding of various IT areas, making me well-suited to contribute effectively to your technical team.
My previous experience working with the NHS as a 1st Line Support for three hospitals in Essex provided me with invaluable exposure to high-pressure situations and honed my troubleshooting and collaborative skills. This experience taught me the importance of swift issue resolution and effective communication within a team, which I believe are critical attributes for any technical role. During this time, I also worked alongside the 2nd Line engineers so have some experience in this area.
During my final year at the University of Hertfordshire, I took on a self-driven project focused on network simulation, aligning with my keen interest in the networking aspects of computing. I thoroughly evaluated and tested multiple network simulation tools, including Cisco Packet Tracer, Cisco Modelling Labs, GNS3, and Boson NetSim. This endeavour allowed me to work hands-on with Cisco hardware, configuring routers, switches, and servers using globally recognized Cisco commands.
The project not only deepened my knowledge of networking protocols but also reinforced my problem-solving and technical skills.
My enthusiasm for all things IT extends beyond my academic pursuits and professional experience. In my free time, I am an avid computer hardware enthusiast, often building computers and constantly expanding my knowledge of Windows systems. This passion drives me to stay up to date with the latest advancements in the IT field and further refine my technical expertise.
