Lucy Bailey

I am an experienced Early Years teacher and lead with over 15 years' experience teaching in schools in England and overseas. I recently worked at an international school in Barcelona where the children came from over 50 countries and most had English as an Additional Language. This experience taught me to make my teaching far more engaging and interactive using props, songs and games to develop understanding and language.

I have recently completed a TEFL qualification which has enhanced my understanding of the English language and how best to teach this. I am currently working as an online phonics and reading teacher working children aged 5 – 8 years on a one-to-one basis and in small groups to develop confidence with reading and writing. This has taught me to make online sessions pacey and fun for young learners so that they remain engaged and motivated.

I have recently been working as an Early Years trainer supporting a large caseload of early years apprentices through online one-to-one tutorials, group webinars and in person visits. This has enabled me to confidently use a wide range of digital and interactive teaching platforms and tools. I am highly organised but also flexible and adaptable, and hope that I am viewed as supportive, caring and professional.

I am looking for a new role and challenge working online to support further young people with their language skills.
