As a 1st assistant manager at a high performing restaurant, I lead a 10-line management team to ensure the effective running of business- holding myself and others to the high standard expected within a highly profitable company. I work in people operations as my main responsibility- I relay information effectively, creating strong partnerships with others, a vital part of my role at Nando’s. I ensure the smooth running of customer service operations and lead a customer service orientated team.
My responsibilities include but are not exclusive to- developing spreadsheets to better organize P&L, relaying HR information to investigate, discipline and support team members as well as hitting personal and business KPIs consistently. I am also responsible for the safe running of the business- ensuring safety audits are a success and we are adhering to national food safety legislations.
Having a leadership role in People Operations for five years I have extensive experience in the HR field. I have a track record of exceptional performance in an operational HR team, I utilise my well-rounded knowledge of employee relations, resourcing, L&D, policies and procedures- I support colleagues through the hiring and the development process- using behaviour toolkits to identify areas of improvement and implement policies, supporting managers in the disciplinary processes.
In order to achieve a BA in History it was necessary for me to research efficiently, using the facilities within the university library was a common occurrence. My academic background means I have an excellent literary understanding, this also stems from my passion for the written word- of which this is very versatile. I also have experience using academic databases during my time of education at York St John in order to collect texts to develop my own research.
Studying history also means I have a very analytical thought process which enables me to solve problems quickly.
