I'm a business support team leader in local government but keen to pivot to Accountancy. It has been a goal of mine to study and complete either the ACA or ACCA qualifications with a view to relaunching my career in that direction.
I am passionate about working in a role which puts the focus on helping people, through advice and support, and fostering good relationships as a result. I have a background in leadership and management, as well as having a qualification in digital marketing, so I bring a wide range of experience to the table.
September 2020 - Present
● Business Support Team Leader, various teams, Children’s Social Care
● I currently lead a team of 10 FTE administrators supporting 7 teams across 3 service areas.
This incorporates daily supervision of tasks, problem solving and prioritisation of incoming work, and supporting operational team members to deliver service to some of the most vulnerable children and young people in our care.
● I also conduct regular process reviews, report on data generated by activity of both my own team and the wider operational service, and am responsible for budget monitoring on operational cost centres to ensure proper process. I also conduct monthly financial audits on our activity to ensure compliance.
June 2016 – September 2020
● Project Co-ordinator, Supervised Contact Team, Children’s Social Care
● I was responsible for organisation and coordination of supervised contact packages for vulnerable children. This involves a need for skills in problem-solving and efficiencyawareness,
and an ability to engage with multiple parties to coordinate effectively.
● I was responsible for identifying longer-term development of the team’s ability to strategically deliver service. This was by utilising data to produce reports on capacities and potential capabilities, visiting other Local Authorities to assess best practice, and liaising with stakeholders and external providers.
