In my previous two administrative roles, I have acquired new and essential experience working in two different office environments, a primary school and a construction company office. I have proven myself to be a valuable team member whilst working at both of these businesses, as I have learnt the office procedures quickly, shown eagerness to learn more and to complete additional tasks so that I can help my co-workers and learn more administration skills. Also, I have proven myself capable of working on a reception desk, as I have an excellent telephone manner and genuinely enjoy speaking to the student’s parents on the telephone, as well as in person, to help them to the best of my knowledge.
During my time as a receptionist for a primary school , I have learnt how to use SIMs and ParentPay efficiently, which I had never used before starting my temporary role with the school, so this proves that I can learn in house systems with ease.
I have completed a level two apprenticeship in business and administration, during which time my role included data entry, updating spreadsheets, responding to emails, assisting with traffic management permits, filing, creating documents, ordering stationery, booking meeting rooms and scanning and uploading final account/job completion packs paperwork onto the client's web-based system. I am a hardworking, reliable and dedicated person who likes to ensure things are done correctly and on time, as I am determined to meet deadlines and organise work so that the tasks that are high priority are finished first. As well as this, I am very proficient at typing and using Microsoft Office packages as I have been using computers all of my life and I can learn a company's ICT system, processes and procedures with ease, adapt to new systems and I am more than willing to learn new skills and undertake more training in order to better myself.
Although I do not have a first aid qualification, I am more than willing to undertake a first aid course for this job role and any other additional qualifications or training that the post would require of me, as I am always willing to learn new skills and seek new educational opportunities. I am resilient and I can adapt to changes in my role with ease once I have be shown what to do, as I can be trusted to work independently as well as part of a team and if I am completely unsure of something, I will seek advice from co-workers or my line manager, as I would rather learn the correct way to do something than attempt something that I do not understand and complete the task incorrectly. Once I have been shown how to do something and attempted the tasks myself, I can be relied upon to work independently.
In addition, my previous administration roles have involved a lot of data entry, which I was very proficient and methodical with, as I always ensured no mistakes were made. I can also learn office-filing systems with ease and ensure that documents are filed away in a manner in which they can be easily retrieved and I ensure that documents that need to be filed are present and accounted for. I am organised and follow to-do lists to ensure daily tasks are completed on time, whilst prioritising which needs to be done first.
