A conscientious hardworking person, who is responsible with any task I am given and eager to learn transferable new skills which I can apply to my future profession. I have previously worked in a team environment and experienced leadership as a senior teaching assistant in a Tutoring Academy, which included experience with administration tasks. I have also undertaken voluntary work in the local community for language development for the Nepalese elderly community and leading groups which has helped build my confidence and allowed me to develop both my verbal and my non-verbal communication skills to a range of ages.
I am familiarised with working in fast-paced environments with multiple priorities while keeping my composure and would like to consider myself as a fast learner. I want an interactive role which will allow me to communicate with a wide range of people. I am available to work a wide range of hours including "unsociable" hours and am excited at the prospect of working with a new dynamic team environment.
Overall I have had approximately three years experience with customer service and administration tasks.
Covid-19 Testing operative - KCC
(2021-01)
Starting from January 2021, I was employed as a mass testing operative which included varied roles such as registration, first-hand resolving any customer queries, customer testing and maintaining both a professional and friendly environment to the highest hygiene standards. This has aided me in directly helping my community, allowed me to use my initiative, and provided me experience with customer service, professionalism and working in a hectic healthcare environment.
Senior Teaching Assistant - Tuition Academy
This job allowed me to develop not only my skills in communication with people from a range of ages, but also my confidence. Tutoring ranged from classes and one to one tutoring, as well as experience with administration tasks such as filing, faxing and computer tasks. This has been further reinforced with my ICT GCSE and I am confident in navigating computers and software.
This experience also allowed me to adapt to new teams and work efficiently for the smooth running of the business and led to my promotion.
Voluntary work - Oxfam
(2017 - 2017)
Conducting the bronze DofE taught me about adapting to a new team environment and working efficiently for a common team goal. Voluntary work during this period exposed me to a range of individuals and maintained good relationships with clients. It provided me with experience at tills and the importance of a smooth running system for a successful business.
Charity Leader - School
(2014 - 2017)
During these years, I planned events annually on behalf of our class of 30 for chosen charities whilst also actively listening and taking on everyone's suggestions. I delegated roles to people for smooth running, and this included listening to input from other members of the class and collaborative teamwork. I also advertised events to raise money for charity, gaining participation from all years at school, and these events varied from entertainment, temporary commerce selling baked goods to advocating for healthy eating.
The charities ranged from awareness for mental health issues (Mind) to more physical issues such as Cancer UK. The role helped me prepare for responsibility and emphasised the importance of efficient time management.
This experience was a temporary shift at a warehouse which included packing orders, making the product, sealing, and learning new skills such as welding using machines. This was a new experience for me and was heavy on time management to meet specific targets on time. It taught me about prioritising and managing time correctly and working well in a new team environment.
Work experience - Dental clinic and General practice
I have had work experience at both a dental clinic and at a general practice which gave me first hand insights into working effectively as a team as well as the importance of attention to detail. During my observations I was able to ask my own questions about any inquiries and was shown roles varying from stock control to administration, which I can now apply to other roles. Further work following the work experience also allowed me to improve my manual dexterity and work fast and precisely under high-pressure conditions while staying calm.
