Adaobi Nnoli

My career in financial services began in financial accounting where I worked on reconciling financial activities for non-profits and high net worth individuals. I joined a financial consulting firm working directly with non-profit CFOs to manage their balance sheets, budgets, and maximize grant funding.

Curiosity about different aspects of financial management led me to business school and upon graduation, I joined J.P. Morgan (JPM) where I worked across different lines of business, corporate treasury and functions including business management, financial modeling, and risk management for JPM’s trillion-dollar balance sheet.

Three years ago, I made a bitcoin donation to a non-profit, in Nigeria, fighting against police brutality, which led me to blockchain technology, cryptocurrency (crypto) protocols and technological security. Excited about this evolution in finance, I joined Anchorage Digital Bank where I was given an opportunity to build the risk team and participate in risk product buildout as a program manager.

Over my vast professional experiences, I have developed the following skills:

• Scaling: Building a function from scratch, hiring, and onboarding new team members while defining roles and responsibilities 
• Product Development/Strategy: Working with stakeholders across brokerage, engineering, sales, and product to drive initiatives for product strategy, new business formation and risk management for both cryptocurrencies and legacy financial systems.
• Risk Management: The ability to review a balance sheet and extract necessary information required for informed decision-making around credit risk and trading controls to avoid error and financial losses.
• Problem Solving: Understanding gaps within businesses, developing requirements from stakeholders, allocating resources to remediate, executing a project plan, and implementing controls to adhere to regulatory compliance.
• Mentorship: Creating new employee training materials and teaching new employees about risk management practices

I have an MBA from the University of Virginia, and a degree in Business Economics from the University of California.
