Alara Lay

I am a recent summa cum laude Rhode Island College graduate with a Bachelor in Media Communications and Advertising with one year of experience in a digital media position. I am proficient in Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Canva and CapCut, with certifications in all Microsoft applications. I am passionate about inspiring creativity in others and doing anything that involves creating something new.

I have spent one year (2024-2025) as the digital media manager for Anchor TV, the video production organization at Rhode Island College. My duties included creating marketing materials for on-campus events, as well as editing video advertisements and podcast episodes. I also performed various tasks such as hosting and filming events, and coming up with ideas for video production projects.

I also spent one year (2023-2024) working as a Front of House Assistant at The John Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts. I assisted with ushering events, constructing and striking sets for performances, and pulling drapery during performances.

I obtained by high school diploma and associate degree from Colorado Early Colleges Colorado Springs and Pikes Peak State College in 2023, at 16 years old. I also obtained Microsoft application certifications and an entrepreneurship certification from Colorado Early Colleges during this time. I am now 18, and have graduated with my Bachelor of Media Communications and Advertising from Rhode Island College.
