Hi everyone! My name is Amelia, and I am a current graduate student at Fitchburg State, pursuing my MBA in Human Resources Management. With an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Spanish, I am eager to advance my career by empowering our business's biggest investment: our people.
I recently worked in the Hospitality industry as an HR coordinator and am looking to advance my experience into operations, analytics, and employee training & development. Previous employers would say I excel in priority management, being able to anticipate needs and complete tasks diligently and urgently. I take great care and consideration for my team, making sure all members have the tools to collaborate efficiently and successfully.
I recently worked as the HR Coordinator and Administrative Assistant for the Holiday Inn in the Cambridge Area. In this role, I had the opportunity to advance my skills with HRIS and payroll systems such as Hirology and Paycom. I was the main point of contact for full cycle onboarding, which included screening, interviewing, onboarding, training, and disciplinary actions.
In addition, I worked with a very diverse team of employees daily to ensure proper benefits administration and payroll processes. Other responsibilities included event planning, policy enforcement, auditing, and training.
I also have an extensive background in customer service, working in all areas of food service for 5+ years. I have developed excellent customer service and multi-tasking abilities in these roles, being attentive to and anticipating client needs.
I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Spanish with a passion for working with others. Understanding fundamental psychological principles and expanding my language skills has given me an advanced skill set for intercommunication.
More recently, I am on the way to completing my MBA in HR Management with Fitchburg State. In this program, I worked closely with professors and peers to understand the fundamentals of HR and Labor Laws, analytical approaches to business, and a vast understanding of DEI practices.
