My interest was piqued when I saw the Home Depot is hiring for full- and part-time customer service, store help and cashiers. I hope I will have the opportunity to put my sales and people skills to good use in your Home Depot location at 4255 Genesee Ave.
Building relationships with customers is a strong quality of mine. I enjoy interacting with people, am a keen listener and have an aptitude for creating comfortable environments for others to express their interests, thoughts and ideas. This has proven valuable when dealing with customers having a hard time finding what they want and/or need. Often encouraging them to consider additional products to round out the shopping experience.
Creative challenges are my life’s blood. I enjoy thinking broadly and guiding customers to find unique solutions to support their ideas. As a team player I enjoy the camaraderie, collaboration, and the meeting of project goals while having fun doing so.
Eight years of retail sales in kitchen, housewares, home accessories, and gourmet foods, (albeit some time ago), allowed me to hone my skills helping customers, managing inventory, and creating displays, beginning with Kitchen Kaboodle in Portland, OR, Sur La Table in the Pike Street Market in Seattle, WA, Forrest Jones in San Francisco, CA, and Let’s Eat in Tiburon, CA.
Instructing graphic design and art to college students has added to my leadership, as well as my computers skills. I am quick to grasp new platforms and am eager to build upon my technical knowledge.
My sense of community, the value I place on helping others while creating healthy relationships with my fellows concurs with the values of your company—I would be proud to be part of a Home Depot team.
Engaging and respectful experiences with those I come in contact with is an important part of my life philosophy. Having satisfied customers return again and again is my goal. My broad knowledge of DIY tools and materials would be a great addition to your team. Oh, did I mention I also love gardening?
