Carlos Plarre

With over a decade of progressive experience in system administration, specializing in Linux and UNIX environment, I bring a comprehensive set of skills including:

Unix/Linux

Initial configuration and deployments for systems

Automation

Shell scripting, Python programming

Oracle RAC cluster setup with Shared Storage and ASM disks

At Thryv Inc., I spearheaded the automation of database refresh processes and the implementation of Ansible for deploying specialized computing environments, which significantly cut deployment times and improved operational workflows. My approach to lifecycle management—from deployment to decommissioning—has refined system environments, achieving high user satisfaction and system reliability. Notably, I enhanced system security by managing live OS images across diverse Unix and Linux systems, aligning with stringent change management and security compliance procedures.

Previously at Atos IT Solutions and Services Inc., I managed system changes and incident operations, where my strategic planning and root cause analysis ensured minimal downtime and adherence to service level agreements. My proactive maintenance planning and implementation of automation tools like BladeLogic for Linux servers greatly enhanced system management and reduced the need for manual intervention, thus increasing overall operational efficiency.

My technical expertise is complemented by my strong leadership and communication skills, demonstrated by my effective team collaborations and clear documentation practices.

I have consistently ensured system integrity and led key initiatives for major clients, including the creation of tailored computing environments that meet specific client needs and enhance overall service delivery.
