I bring 28 yrs. of experience in leadership, personnel management, training, mentorship, mission planning, marketing analysis, and skilled decision making from an organization designed to mold leaders. In the last 17 yrs. of my service to the NC Army National Guard I spent that time within the Recruiting and Retention Battalion. Those years were spent building a career surrounding recruiting, training, qualifying, and guiding future Soldiers to someday become the next generation of leaders within the organization.
I built a successful legacy with individuals that decided to follow my guidance and change their paths to support a cause that was bigger than themselves. During their course these Soldiers experienced life improving opportunities that set them up for future success. I learned early on that to be truely successful you must work as a team, consistently improve the work environment, to not let the mission objective cause you to lose focus of your subordinates, and to always leave the situation better off than how it was when you received it.
In my career I worked closely with hundreds of Soldiers that depended on my professional guidance to give them a jump start to an exciting career choice. I knew it was imperative to be professional at all times to ensure I was able to convey a claer message to these young men and women deciding to serve their country. I was responsible for building a recruiting program, developing professional relationships in the community, building a working relationship with educators, and training the future leaders of the organization.
All the while keeping my chain of command and state leadership apprised of their current unit status. These actions directly affected the force structure of the NC Army National Guard in a positive way.
I completed my BA in Psychology in 2000 and attended numerous leadeship courses throughout my military career. As a senior non-commissioned officer my training focused around leading Soldiers, developing mentorship abilities, enhancing communications skills, and focused on professional development.
