• Direct and maintain the department to achieve cost, quality, and efficiency targets.
• Ensure equipment and tools are available to execute the production schedule.

• Suggest, support, and implement cost and continuous improvement items.
• Daily communications with Planners, Managers, and other Technical Leads to schedule production to support customer demands.
• Develop improvement plans regarding labor efficiencies. Determine most efficient staffing levels for area of responsibility.
• Assure employees are professionally trained and understand job expectations.
• Certify operators to the current revision of the instructional documents and document accordingly. Cross train members for back-ups for key positions.
• Assure productivity and cost objectives are met. Maintain employee records, as necessary.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment. Communicate issues to appropriate personnel.
• Issue and update, daily, schedules of productions.
• Discipline, coach, and counsel employees, as necessary.
• Work with the Planners to maintain and to establish target levels of finished goods inventory based on customer demand, manufacturing capabilities and inventory turns objectives.
• Implement actions to reduce inventory through quantity reductions, consignment implementations and write-off of excess and obsolete inventory to meet planned inventory turn goals.
• Encourage and support improvements in processes or methods of manufacturing. Recommend new methods and processes and stay up to date on the latest methods and technologies.
