Results-driven professional with 30+ years of experience developing relationships that were goal oriented and mutually beneficial seeking to utilize those same skills into a career in counseling starting with my Certification as a Peer Support Specialist. Having experienced mental health and substance abuse has first-hand knowledge of the challenges in embracing sobriety and addressing recovery. First-hand awareness – financial, unemployment, and divorce – of the consequences of not honestly admitting and seeking treatment for mental health issues and substances. First-hand familiarity with hospitalization, intensive out-patient group therapy, individual therapy, and recovery meetings. Experience with developing wellness plans with peers in recovery. Personal and business experience working individually and with teams. Would be a great asset in any organization focused on helping those in need to overcome the serious medical issues of addiction and mental health struggles.
