I graduated from college and looked at teaching as a substitute because the jobs were plentiful. I enjoyed two years of subbing, but it didn't satisfy my long-term goal. I want to connect with people and use my skills in negotiating to bring them products and services that benefit us all. I earn a sale, and they keep their customers happy. I am motivated, hungry and a team player.
To date, my professional experience has been in teaching all levels from pre-k through high school as a substitute. However, my experience in sales is my preferred route. I have sold luxury items at Kate Spade and I've sold wifi products for Verizon door to door. My goal is to build a career with an organization that will afford me some training and let me demonstrate my value to them through my sales wins.
My most relevant education for a sales role is my love of philosophy. That was my minor at the University of Colorado. I get it. It's understanding the basics of knowledge, reality and existence that helps a person become an effective seller. It also helps to have an great sense of humor, which is another relevant factor for me.
