Senior Vice President - Credit Risk Management Services (CRMS) Business Unit Manager - CITIGROUP - New York, NY
(2024-03)
- Launched and led the CRMS AI Accelerator working group to drive AI adoption across a 400-person global organization spanning 39 countries — identifying operational-efficiency use cases, educating staff on large language models and firm AI governance, and advising teams on how best to leverage AI.
- Designed and ran the global Maker-Checker Training & Excellence Program — certification exams tiered by role (maker and checker), mandatory annual recertification, and quarterly exam cycles to capture new hires, returners from leave, and checker aspirants — training and certifying approximately 400 employees across 39 countries. Built AI-simulated training scenarios to give employees practical, hands-on experience ahead of certification.
- Built an AI-powered Daily Activity Report dashboard to monitor maker-checker control failures — surfacing failure trends, pinpointing responsible makers and checkers, quantifying total notional value lost, and tracking KPIs to proactively identify control gaps.
- Developed a management dashboard giving real-time visibility into maker-checker certification status across CRMS by region, cluster, and country — including certification status, last assessment date, and training completion — to track recertification compliance.
- Led a structural reorganization of CRMS, right-placing all non-core functions to other Citi organizations to sharpen focus on the core credit risk mandate; separately drove the rebranding of CRMS to Credit Enablement (CE) with executive sponsorship to reposition the function as a business-enabling partner.
- Led the global remediation of an Internal Audit finding that identified CRMS's maker-checker control as inadequate — implementing systemic (automated) controls, hardening the control itself, and enforcing independence requirements barring any checker from reporting to a maker; independently validated and closed by audit as Risk Mitigated.
