I still remember playing Tetris for the first time at a friend's house as a teenager, and being fascinated by how something so simple could feel so thoughtfully designed. That curiosity led me to study computer science, and over the past 12+ years I've grown into a backend and platform engineer building and evolving large-scale distributed systems across Salesforce, Amazon, and Atlassian. My work has focused on multi-tenant SaaS platforms, event-driven architectures, and reliability-critical backend systems, often centered around large-scale migrations, service boundary design, and production stability at scale.

Sales Cloud (CRM Platform)

• Helped lead the design and phased rollout of a multi-tenant data partitioning layer for Sales Cloud, improving query isolation and establishing shard-aware routing patterns adopted across the platform.
• Led the migration of the opportunity sync pipeline from a polling-based design to an event-driven architecture using Kafka and Flink, helping define service boundaries and event contracts that other teams later reused as a reference for similar migrations.
• Designed a distributed rate-limiting framework adopted across several Sales Cloud microservices, enforcing per-org API quotas with low overhead using token-bucket counters backed by Redis Cluster; worked with service teams to manage rollout compatibility.
• Partnered with the search infrastructure team on migrating the Account hierarchy index from Solr to Elasticsearch, improving response times and enabling geo-proximity ranking for territory management features.
• Built an internal capacity-planning tool in Python to model storage growth trends across data centers, helping infrastructure teams evaluate scaling scenarios and inform annual planning discussions.
• Collaborated with the security team to refactor the CRM data-access permission layer, addressing a class of authorization issues and supporting SOC 2 Type II audit requirements.

• Designed and delivered a low-latency product-attribute aggregation service (Java / DynamoDB) powering detail-page rendering for hundreds of millions of ASINs, supporting Prime Day-scale traffic with consistent low-latency targets under heavy peak load.
• Replaced a monolithic catalog-ingestion pipeline with a fan-out Lambda architecture, reducing new-listing indexing lag from several hours to minutes and improving indexing turnaround for newly launched product categories.
• Built a distributed inventory reservation system using optimistic locking and idempotent retries to reduce over-sell incidents during high-concurrency flash sales; worked with the fulfillment team on a backward-compatible phased rollout.
• Drove adoption of AWS X-Ray distributed tracing across downstream services in the detail-page call graph, improving debugging efficiency and substantially reducing time-to-identify production issues.
• Introduced a schema-registry-backed Avro serialization layer for inter-service events, helping standardize event contracts across producer and consumer teams and reducing recurring schema-compatibility issues.
• Collaborated with the ML team to integrate a real-time A/B experimentation framework into the product-ranking service, supporting statistically isolated traffic buckets across concurrent experiments.

• Re-architected the Jira JQL execution engine to support columnar predicate pushdown, substantially improving complex board queries on large issue datasets and reducing load on the backing database.
• Implemented a distributed workflow-transition lock using PostgreSQL advisory locks to address a class of double-transition race conditions affecting customers on the cloud tier.
• Contributed to several Jira REST API v3 features, including bulk issue move, cascading field updates, and multi-project schema validation, while working with marketplace teams to maintain backward compatibility for existing integrations.
• Refactored the attachment storage layer to support multiple backends including local disk, S3, and customer-managed GCS, making it easier for teams to plug in their own storage setups for enterprise deployments.
• Helped resolve a connection-pool exhaustion bug triggered during webhook fan-out, working across teams to identify root cause and coordinate a safe rollout of the fix for affected enterprise customers.
• Built load-test harnesses using Gatling integrated into CI, covering key API endpoints and catching several throughput regressions before production deployment.
• Participated in the Jira Cloud migration working group, contributing to tenant-isolation patterns that influenced how self-managed customers were onboarded to the cloud tier.
