My name is Kylie and I am an artist, activist, speaker and writer. I specialize in empowerment, disability advocacy, community and business building. Having started my career in hiring in tech, I consult with companies and organizations on team building, interview processes and accessibility. I am also a visual artist and painter that has experience working with both kids and adults.
All in all, I help people access their most empowered, creative and confident selves. Whether that is through my art, public speaking, writing, workshops, or consulting - I help people reach their most powerful selves and connect back to their most creative and innovative brains.
I have experience hiring designers and product managers for Airbnb and Reddit, along with other well known tech companies and startups.
I am in the process of finishing a book which is expected to be published in 2025 that is about navigating transformation, weaving together creativity and strategy and rejecting the status quo.
I currently run my own art and consulting business, where I have been working on murals, canvas, commissions and social media collaborations.
I worked at Reddit before starting my business, where I specialized in evaluating and hiring visual and product artists and led their UX recruiting. I did a top to bottom redesign of their hiring and design evaluation and interview processes, and was able to hire all critical UX roles and work with the Head of UX. 2022-2023 (Reddit)
Prior to that, I was leading product and design recruiting for a startup called Ironclad (2021-2022) and before that led product and specialized design hiring at Atlassian (2018-2020). Before Atlassian, I was on the design recruiting team at Airbnb (2017-2018), working with and evaluating some of the best designers in tech.
I have always worked really closely with artists, designers, product folks and executives.
I have a bachelor of arts in communication studies with an emphasis on social psychology and creative writing. I graduated from California State University, Northridge in 2013.
