I am a highly-qualified veteran teacher with a bachelor's degree from Boston University in Psychology and a Master's in Education in Science Education. I have most recently been employed as a subject master in Biology, middle school science and Advanced Placement Psychology. I am currently applying for positions in content development for educational software companies. Prior to teaching I worked in email marketing.
After graduating from Boston University with a BA in Psychology I took a job for a software company in email marketing. I worked in this field for 3 years before deciding to participate in a career-change program in education. At that time, Boston University partnered with Chelsea Public Schools and recruited adults with a strong background in science to teach at the middle or high school level.
I participated in this program and taught Biology at Chelsea High School for two years before relocating to Florida where I also taught Biology for two years. I returned to Massachusetts in 2007 and was hired at Boston Latin School (BLS), a prestigious exam school in Boston to teach Biology. I have remained at BLS for the past 15 years and in that time I have taught and developed a middle school science curriculum, and am currently still teaching Biology in addition to Advanced Placement Psychology.
In the past several years I have learned and used a variety of educational software platforms while shifting to online learning due to the pandemic and found that I enjoyed bridging my tech interest with my passion for creating curriculum and teaching science.
