• Responsible for understanding business and technical requirements to manage multiple iSeries systems with over 20 LPARs. 
• Experience with IBM system 36, 38 and AS400. P7, P8 and P9. OS V7R2 V7R3
• The scope of my tasks included configuration, monitoring, backup, capacity planning, performance tuning, patching, break fix, security, compliance, and disaster recovery for iSeries platforms.
• Plans, schedules and performs proactive maintenance, including OS and 3rd party software upgrades, PTF installation and IPL of iSeries systems to ensure optimum performance levels

• Perform annual disaster recovery tests. 
• Responsible for accurately reporting iSeries issues, maintaining iSeries software and hardware assets database..
• Creates and executes CL programs for various backup, monitoring, and job scheduling activities 
• Provides support for production, test and development environments 
• Develops documentation and deployment plans in support of the AS400 production/development environments
• Following established processes such as change and incident management
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, managing break fix with 3rd party vendors for iSeries infrastructure.
• Establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal and external strategic partners as well as critical IT infrastructure service providers.

• 10+ years’ experience for the configuration, maintenance and administration of IBM iSeries (servers, multiple partitions), including message handling, command line utilities, work management, job and print control, device management, system configuration, system security, backup and restore, file transfer integration and PTF management
• Skill in solving technically challenging problems involving IBM iSeries based applications and hardware issues. 
• Skill in prioritizing and balancing multiple tasks. 
• Working knowledge of CL and RPG programming languages
• Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships and promoting teamwork
