Answers inbound calls for the Orthopedics and neurology department, and currently in training for OnBase tier 1 and 2 outbound calls providing front-line customer service to patients, physicians, medical office coordinators and staff. Register, Schedule and coordinate simple and complex patient appts for all johns Hopkins locations. Incumbent priorities patient problems and provides appropriate patient instructions.
Review and analyze the required documentation for creating/editing appt requests. ensure accurate insurance eligibility. Checked in and entered information in computer database, recorded insurance information, and communicated information between patients and staff members with providing updates as needed. Prioritized the order of care, maintained paper and electronic medical records while updating the records as needed.
Communicated with insurance companies in order to assist with billing. Assisted patients with checkout, calculated payments and accepted funds. Initially worked part-time from home and on-line to handle administrative duties for the owner of a new printing company not yet opened.
Responsible for answering the phone, ordering supplies, and working with vendors. Handled accounts payable/accounts receivables and accepted supplies to set up the future printing company.
