Siyang Hu

I’m Reese (Siyang) Hu, a graduate student at Washington University in St. Louis pursuing a Master’s in Business Analytics with a focus on Financial Technology. With a strong academic foundation from Babson College and hands-on experience in financial modeling, investment research, and data analytics, I’ve worked on projects ranging from LBOs to regulatory compliance and algorithmic portfolio analysis.

I’m passionate about blending quantitative analysis with strategic thinking and have a deep interest in classical piano, watercolor painting, and bouldering.

I have experience in quantitative analysis, investment research, and financial modeling across banking, private equity, and fintech. I led portfolio analysis projects using Python and Excel at First Bank, built LBO models and conducted industry research at Dark Alpha Capital, and supported trading and compliance operations at Hang Seng Bank and Zhongou AMC. My work spans asset evaluation, automation, and regulatory reporting, with a strong foundation in data analytics and finance.

I’m a recent graduate with a Master of Science in Business Analytics (Financial Technology track) from Washington University in St. Louis. My coursework focused on SQL, Python, cloud computing, and advanced finance. I also hold a Bachelor of Science in Business Analytics from Babson College, where I built a strong foundation in data analysis, finance, and strategy.
