I am a pre-medical student, who graduated from UCLA in December 2022 with a B.S. in Physiological Sciences. I will be applying to medical school in the 2023-2024 application cycle.

Research Experience

Undergraduate Research Assistant, Kitchen Lab, UCLA Hematology and Oncology (June 2021 – present)

• Performing molecular cloning techniques to develop chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy against human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)
  • Undergraduate Research Fellowship Program Scholar: Current project involves the use of glycophosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchors to develop a dendritic cell vaccine that can improve the efficacy and memory function of CAR T-cell therapy against HIV infection

• Examining novel in vitro models of peritoneal carcinomas and development of liquid biopsies through examining contents secreted cancer exosomes from patient samples to detect peritoneal carcinomas early before significant cancer development.

• Studied mortality trends of lupus nephritis from 1999-2019 based on race/ethnicity and geographical location using regression and joinpoint analysis

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) Critical Care Transport (December 2021 – present)

• EMT for CHOC, working in interfacility transport and advanced life support (ALS) critical care transport (CCT) of pediatric and neonatal patients to CHOC alongside nurses and respiratory therapists

• Interfacility transport at Lynch Ambulance, transporting emergent and non-emergent patients between medical facilities

Volunteer, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) (December 2021 – present)

• Volunteer at CHLA, escorting families to appointments and providing toys and companionship for pediatric patients in the facility

• Assisting UCLA community service organizations by helping transfer their operations to an online platform
  • Co-Founder and VP of Operations (September 2020 – present)
    • Founded organization that transitions UCLA organizations to remote platforms and managed organization’s design team

• Global service club that carries out sustainable service projects in Vadamanappakkam, a rural village in India, with a focus on improving the public health and access to healthcare in the village

    • Coordinate outreach efforts of Project RISHI and manage all committee initiatives through regular meetings with directors

    • Lead and organized a women’s medical camp at Vadamanappakkam and a speaker panel about South Asian heart health

• Perform free EKGs on student athletes, youth, and general population and give heart talk presentations to increase awareness about sudden cardiac arrest

    • Coordinate entire efforts of the Saving Hearts Foundation and ensuring that organization works towards our mission statement

• Tutoring children in LA county that are at-risk for juvenile crime to uplift community and provide mentorship in an educational setting

    • Work in matching new families with tutors that meet their educational needs as well as addressing logistical issues that may arise while scheduling tutoring sessions

• Provided tutoring assistance to students that attended the center to improve their math skills and helped with assigned worksheets and/or their homework
