I am currently a preschool teacher.
I am an early childhood educator with nearly three decades of extensive experience. Over the years, I have cultivated a diverse skill set and a solid educational foundation, having earned an Associate Degree in Education, a Bachelor of Science in Education, and am currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Early Childhood Education with a focus on administration, leadership, and management. My professional journey includes operating a licensed home daycare for 18 years, which provided a practical understanding of child care and management.
Additionally, I spent a decade with Chicago Public Schools in various capacities, including a children's welfare attendant for special needs students, a lunchroom cook, and a porter. Furthermore, my role as a teacher assistant in Des Moines Public Schools has broadened my pedagogical methods and enhanced my instructional skills.
I am presently pursuing a Master of Science degree in early childhood education with a specialization in administration, management, and leadership. This advanced degree encompasses both theoretical and practical aspects of effectively running educational programs for young children. The curriculum delves into a wide range of topics, including organizational behavior, strategic planning, and leadership theory, equipping me with the essential skills to lead and manage early childhood education centers.
The focus on leadership within this specialization also prepares me to address the unique challenges that arise in educational settings, aiming to promote high standards of educational practice and contribute to the academic and developmental success of young learners.
