Hello, my name is Covey MacNamara. I am a creative, passionate, and driven individual with a prominent background in customer experience, fashion, and the creative industries. Fast-paced environments that require strong communication and public relations are both my passion and my strength.
After completing a B.A. Honours degree in Psychology, my path led me to take a more psychological business approach within the creative industries, with a focus on customer communications and team management. I am currently planning to broaden my journey by applying for Masters programs in England that specialize in Luxury fashion business. These programs will support my long-term goal of working in a luxury corporate business setting.
I have also completed a summer program at Fashion and Luxury Management, at Institut Français de la Mode in Paris, France, where I will spent two intensive weeks studying the culture and economics of fashion and luxury while developing international communication and business strategy skills.
My experience in the creative industries includes volunteering with Fashion Art Toronto for five seasons, most recently as a Runway Team Lead assistant. I also currently work with the talented designer Storrveldi, assisting with photoshoots, styling, and creative direction. Recently, I joined her in New York City as her assistant during multiple photoshoots of her work.
Although the creative industry is my main focus, I am equally passionate about customer service. I have worked as a waitress for nearly three years at The Village Café in Ottawa, where I take great pride in my work. In addition to serving, I am an active member of the social media team, which allows me to further showcase my creativity within the industry.
