My name is Shawna Morse. I grew up in the Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia. I graduated with honors from Success Business College in Truro, Nova Scotia with a diploma in Medical Office Administration. I worked at a local hospital for 23 years and went on to work for CBBC Career College as an Instructor for the Medical Office Assistant program.
Currently I have just recently moved to the Niagara area and am seeking a role as an Instructor for the Medical Office/Ward Clerk program I was currently teaching and enjoying.
I am married with 2 sons and appreciate the outdoors, inspirational podcasts, fitness and nutrition lifestyle habits and a zest for continuing education.
Over the 23 years as a Medical Office Assistant, I have learned many roles, but being a leader has been most rewarding. By being a leader, I mean training new staff, assisting nurses, doctors and patients in any accommodating manner to fulfill any duties related to my job. Taught me the basics of being an organized professional with a sold understanding of medical terminology used in healthcare. Also, being accountable, reliable and using the skills taught to navigate the complex software computer programs associated with a professional medical office, as well the confidentiality aspect and how important it is to be discreet when dealing with patient information.
