Hello, my name is Caitlin Leaver, I am 25 years old, and I am a deputy manager at Basingstoke Garden Centre in Dummer. I have been a manager since I was 18 after my skills were recognised during my time starting with being weekend staff then going to full time after my education. I really enjoy taking long walks around the local area.
I have achieved many medals through Race the World walking challenges for example walking the distance between earth and the space station (253.5 miles) in one month and walking the length of the London underground (250 miles) also in one month and many more. I really enjoy taking my parents dog, Amber, with me. I also enjoy keeping fit which would include walking, but I also enjoy going to the gym, swimming, and going to Zumba classes.
I love exploring new area in my hometown and surroundings. My love for travel also expands around the country and internationally. Along with my love for travel and exploring, I really enjoy taking my passion of photography with me.
This enables me to capture parts of the world through the lens in a very artistic way to show to show the beauty of this planet. I have many photos on the wall in mine and my parents house and plan on taking my photography online. I love creating scrap books using the photos I have taken and creating various planners to organize myself throughout the year.
My career began in 2013 working as a weekend staff member working at Wyevale Garden Centre in Binfield whilst I studied at Henley College. In 2015 at the age of 18, I went full time and got promoted to deputy manager of the Binfield store where I helped the store develop and grow. In 2017, after seeing a decline in customer sales in the bigger Wyevale Garden Centre, Heathlands store, I was asked to transfer to help with store growth and development.
During my time, I was managing up to 15 people in which time I continued to expand and develop my own skills as deputy manager. In October of 2019, I got headhunted by a newly opened independent garden centre (Basingstoke Garden Centre) in Dummer. I was employed to create a strong foundation for the store as well as taking on a visual merchandising role to improve the stores aesthetics and continue to enhance the store to the current day.
