About
BCS-certified Business Analyst with around 6 years' experience bridging business stakeholders and technical delivery teams within complex, regulated environments. At NIHR (NETSCC), contracted by NIHR and the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), I've led requirements elicitation, analysis, and validation across multiple initiatives, including two AI/Machine Learning projects: one applying a human-in-the-loop design to a GenAI-assisted solution that cut manual processing time by almost 60% (delivered within an Azure DevOps environment, with the benefit formally tracked in a Benefits Realisation Plan), and a second where I defined requirements, prioritised MVP scope against the backlog, and defined the benefits to be realised, facilitating UAT to confirm delivery matched stakeholder needs. I'm comfortable producing user stories, functional and non-functional requirements, process flows, and business rules (UML, BPMN), and have supported business readiness, change communications, and training material for adoption.
I bring hands-on Salesforce CRM and Balsamiq wireframing experience, and a genuine, practical curiosity about applying AI to improve delivery, evidenced by co-founding an AI telesales startup alongside my current role.
Experience
Business Data Analyst at NETSCC, University of Southampton (Contracted by NIHR & the Department of Health and Social Care) (2025-05 – Present)
- Led elicitation and documentation of functional and non-functional requirements for a GenAI-assisted data classification solution, designing a human-in-the-loop approach that cut manual processing time by almost 60%, a benefit formally tracked in the project's Benefits Realisation Plan with an assigned owner. Delivered within an Azure DevOps-based project environment.
- Defined requirements for a separate AI/ML solution built with NETSCC's data science team: engaged stakeholders to elicit and validate requirements, prioritised MVP scope against the backlog, communicated priorities to stakeholders, the development team and project sponsor, defined benefits to be realised, and facilitated UAT workshops to confirm delivered features met acceptance criteria.
- Ran a gap analysis across CHS data classification, mapping AS-IS and TO-BE states and producing process flows to identify inefficiencies and inform solution design.
- Directed the business analysis and change management workstream for the decommissioning of the NIHR Journal Library, supporting business readiness and communicating change impact across a large, regulated research organisation.
- Designed and delivered a Power BI dashboard for award and manuscript monitoring, reducing manual tracking effort by 40%.
- Built and launched a Business Analysis hub site and co-founded a Community of Practice, embedding standardised requirements and delivery practice across OneNIHR.
Co-Founder at Servia Digital Ltd (2025-05 – 2026-07)
alongside full-time role above
- Co-founded a startup building AI-powered telesales solutions for business clients, owning solution design end-to-end from discovery through delivery.
- Applied a practical, curious approach to identifying where AI could improve client workflows, and where a human should remain in the loop.
Customer Success Manager / Business Analyst (On-site) at Adventoris (2024-04 – 2025-04)
- Managed a £2B+ client portfolio, running stakeholder workshops to identify process inefficiencies and translate them into requirements and business cases.
- Designed and delivered training programmes based on documented user requirements, supporting change adoption across client organisations.
- Built a customer success framework and documentation that increased customer satisfaction by 20% and lifted retention by 25%.
Business Analyst (Remote) at Cancer Research UK (2023-02 – 2023-10)
- Facilitated stakeholder and JAD workshops to elicit and document requirements, translating business needs into epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria within an Agile delivery team, lifting delivery efficiency by 40%.
- Produced use case diagrams and a Target Operating Model to communicate planned system changes to stakeholders and technical teams.
- Defined and led the data migration strategy into Salesforce CRM, safeguarding data quality through the transition.
- Used Balsamiq to build wireframes for prototyping proposed solutions ahead of stakeholder review.
- Authored process models and user flows (BPMN, UML) that clarified system functionality for both business and technical audiences, cutting training time by 10 to 20%.
Business Analyst (Remote) at Alexander Maclean (2022-07 – 2022-11)
- Chaired requirements workshops using gap analysis and stakeholder management techniques to build the business case for a new Learning Management System (LMS).
- Built wireframes in Balsamiq to communicate proposed solutions and reduce requirements-comprehension risk.
- Led the LMS migration project end-to-end, including UAT, contributing to a 32% increase in student satisfaction.
