I‘ve a welfare benefit adviser for 30 years. Firstly with Coventry Citizens Advice Bureau and the past 18 years with ExtraCare Charitable Trust
Over the last 30 years I’ve gained a wealth of knowledge regarding welfare benefit entitlement. These are some of the skills I’ve learned over the years
Preparing and attending benefit tribunals
Supporting and advising vulnerable clients
Maximising client’s benefit entitlement (over £10 million in the last 8 years)
Supporting clients in making reasonable offers of payments towards their rent arrears
Sending affordability letters before residents move in, explaining their rent/service charges and any benefit entitlement
Kept the charity up to date regarding changes in welfare benefits
Attended resident meetings to promote welfare benefit service
Drafted welfare benefit training material
Provided welfare benefit training to members of staff
