I’m a certified Spanish educator with over 24 years of classroom experience and a passion for helping students grow in their confidence and communication skills. I hold a BA in Spanish and Education from Rutgers University and a Master’s in Spanish Language and Literature from Middlebury College. I’ve also lived in both Valencia and Madrid, Spain, and I travel to Spain often to stay immersed in the language and culture.
My teaching approach is grounded in acquisition-driven instruction. I specialize in using comprehensible input and TPRS (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling) to make language learning meaningful, engaging, and accessible for all learners—whether they’re just starting out or working toward fluency. I believe that when students feel supported and connected, they’re more motivated to learn.
That’s why I focus on building strong relationships and creating a learning environment that’s fun, low-stress, and student-centered.
In addition to teaching Spanish in the classroom, I’ve tutored small groups of English language learners for many years, supporting them with both language development and academic success. I’m also an experienced curriculum developer and instructional coach, which allows me to tailor lessons to each student’s needs and goals. Whether you're looking for help with Spanish, English as a second language, or general language support, I’m here to make the learning process positive, personal, and effective.
