I am writing to express my interest in the IT support role, where I can apply my hands-on technical expertise, customer-focused approach, and experience supporting enterprise environments. With several years of experience in desktop support, service desk operations, and systems administration - I bring a strong foundation in troubleshooting, deployment, and user support across diverse environments.
Most recently, I worked as a Senior Desktop Support Technician with Bell Techlogix, supporting Huntington Ingalls/Newport News Shipbuilding in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment. In this role, I handled break/fix issues, system imaging, PC swaps, mobile device management, and data transfers, relying heavily on Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 tools. I am comfortable working onsite with end users, prioritizing urgent issues, and delivering reliable technical solutions under pressure.
Previously, I served as a Senior Microcomputer Systems Analyst for the City of Norfolk and the City of Virginia Beach, where I played a key role in large-scale Windows 10 to Windows 11 migrations. My responsibilities included imaging and deploying systems, remote access support, SCCM usage, Tier III troubleshooting, and supervising Tier I and II technicians. These roles strengthened my leadership abilities while deepening my technical knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft Azure, network troubleshooting, and secure system configurations.
Across my career, I have consistently supported environments involving Microsoft 365, Active Directory administration, VPNs, asset and license management, mobile device management, and IT ticketing systems. I am experienced with Windows and macOS platforms, CMD and Terminal usage, MFA implementation, cloud services, and maintaining clear technical documentation. I also enjoy training staff and supporting both individual users and teams.
Notably, I have recently enrolled in a CompTIA Security+ course at Virginia Wesleyan University and will be taking the CompTIA Security+ Exam in less than a month. This coursework has further reinforced my understanding of security best practices, user authentication, and secure IT operations. I take pride in being detail-oriented, dependable, and approachable - someone users trust to resolve issues efficiently, while keeping systems secure and operational.
On a personal note, I’d like to take this opportunity to bring up my strong integrity, accountability, and commitment to service into my personal life. I have over three years of sobriety, and maintain an active relationship with my AA sponsor and homegroup. Also, I regularly volunteer with the Tidewater Intergroup Council of Alcoholics Anonymous - Treatment Committee which brings AA meetings into local rehabilitation and treatment centers. This experience has strengthened my reliability, empathy, communication skills, and dedication to showing up consistently—qualities I carry into every role that I hold.
I would welcome the opportunity to contribute my skills and experience to your IT team and supporting your organization’s technology needs! Thank you for your time and consideration, I look forward to discussing how my background aligns with your requirements for this specific role!
