I am currently a 5th-grade teacher and am pursuing my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, which I will complete in April. I am excited to apply the new skills and knowledge I will gain in a role focused on curriculum development or as an instructional coach.
I am currently a 5th-grade teacher at a charter school in Surprise, AZ, where I have been teaching for the past 5 years. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a SEI endorsement from Northern Arizona University. I am also pursuing my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction at Grand Canyon University, with plans to complete my degree in April. Education has been my passion since high school, and I have been teaching for 13 years.
I have experience in planning, organizing, and delivering effective instruction, including creating lesson plans and utilizing diverse learning strategies to ensure student success. I differentiate instruction and materials to meet individual student needs and incorporate technology to enhance personalized learning. I regularly observe and assess student performance, monitor progress, and maintain accurate records in accordance with regulations.
I actively participate in meetings with staff and parents, communicate essential information, and stay updated on the latest teaching methods and resources. Additionally, I have contributed to curriculum alignment in adult education. I have strong skills in data collection, problem-solving, and effective communication.
I am currently pursuing my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction, with the goal of applying my skills in curriculum development or as an instructional coach. My coursework has equipped me with the ability to be an effective leader, create curriculum maps, and develop pacing guides. It has also taught me how to communicate effectively with staff, providing constructive feedback and supporting them in their professional practice.
