I am a physician by trade. My medical degree was obtained in 1996 from Stanford Medical School. I spent almost 10 years practicing medicine in North East Ohio before starting a career developing antibiotics for pharmaceutical companies.
I am currently semi-retired doing consulting work from home while living in Kent County Delaware. I am passionate about education and am interested in pursuing a second career in education here in Delaware. I enjoy the lifestyle and community here and would like to use my education to further the education of Delaware youth.
Both of my parents were educators. My mother was a high school teacher and educator while my father was a physics professor. I feel at home teaching. I saw this listing on the internet for substitute teachers needed in the Caesar Rodney School district and thought I would reach out.
I have experience relevant to teaching such as working as a student counselor in college and as a teaching assistant for classes taught in medical school. However, I lack any formal teaching credentials or certifications. I was hoping that substitute teaching would afford me the opportunity to further my credentials and perhaps pursue a regular science/biology teaching position.
