I am a licensed secondary English teacher and have 10+ years of varied work experience in sales, customer service, training, management, and clerical work. I have a master's degree in curriculum and instruction: English Language Arts/ESOL. I have recently relocated to FL from the DC area, and I am looking to make a career change. I was a substitute teacher for four years and a licensed teacher for five years. During my years as a teacher, I also kept a summer job as a lifeguard trainer/supervisor for a large commercial management company. I am a highly organized, extroverted, and collaborative worker, and I excel at problem-solving and conflict resolution. I am energetic and motivated, and I enjoy staying busy and working toward a goal.
In my early working years (1999-2007), I had various part-time jobs in retail, clerical, and customer service settings. Later, I performed long-term temp assignments in various professional settings including human resources and commercial real estate. I also did grassroots marketing as a brand ambassador and led a street team. I worked as a lifeguard trainer and supervisor for ten years during graduate school and into my teaching career. I substituted for four years, then worked as a contracted teacher at the same school for five additional years. I am computer literate, have strong written and oral communication skills, and enjoy interacting with coworkers and customers. During the early stages of the pandemic, I facilitated virtual sessions with students and coworkers, created and managed online resources, and collected data/feedback to ensure the best outcomes for learners. I also led a curriculum planning team and served as an equity lead for my worksite.
I have a bachelor's in Literacy Education and a master's in Curriculum and Instruction: Secondary English. I have also completed professional development in Instructional Design and E-Learning.
