Palm Valley Animal Shelter (10/2018)-(12/2018) 2 Months

• Tasked with maintaining kennels and other facilities, and interacting with the animals such as exercising the dogs and cats

• Tasked with helping the gift shop restock merchandise
• Answering questions for Customer service in check-in area 
• Maintaining exhibits and keeping the facility clean 
• Educated guest’s with “Education boxes” that included feathers, shark jaws, shark teeth, sea turtle shells and pamphlets for anyone who was interested

• Tasked with helping sort samples from the Gulf of Mexico and Matagorda Bay. By dividing preserved specimen by species to help with data analysis
• Using a calibrator for measuring the different sizes of shrimp and recording the numbers to be sent to Galveston Texas

• Tasked with guided tour’s about the facility and importance of rehabilitation
• Educating the public using education tools
• Animal Nutrition
• Answered any questions/Customer Service 
• Bird/Sea turtle rescues

• Currently assigned as their volunteer coordinator
• Tasked with the responsibility of managing and interacting with incoming volunteers
• Developing and implementing new strategies for how the facility utilizies and offers opportunities for all volunteers

• Currently assigned as a bird trainer
• Training with Barn Owl
• Prepares diet for all raptors
• Develop enrichment ideas
• Developing behaviors and reinforcing them

• Know how to clean tanks, such as Scrubbing, Skimming, and Vacumming
• Add amount of salt needed in each tank
• Clean Protein skimmer
• Add chlorine to the chlorinators
• Water quality

• Organized the area by adding tables and chairs
• Making gift bags for the guests attending the event 
• Organized paintings and items for the auction
• Organized the gift shop

• Volunteered on sea turtle patrol with a bio technician from April-July
• Dispatched in the sea turtle lab
• Assisted in nonpublic sea turtle hatchling releases 
• Assisted in sea turtle necropsy lab
