I currently work as Customer Sales Support for Deanta UK which has gained me a breadth of experience in sales, promotions, learning a range of systems, quoting items and customer service. I previously worked as an Acquisitions Assistant at Austin Macauley Publishers where I dealt with a range of clients from around the world whilst generating contracts and customer letters to generate the sale of a publishing contract. Before this, I was a receptionist at Thomas Walker Surgery and have gained many skills to allow me to work exceptionally well with a range of people.
I am very punctual, polite and willing to learn new skills. I am also an extremely patient person and calm under pressure which enables me to deal with difficult situations involving aggressive patients or patients who are struggling with their current conditions. From my past work experience, I have gained confidence and improved my organisational skills.
When working at Bumble Campers, I learnt how to manage time and how to do promotional work and designing social media posts to go out to a wide audience. Working at Home from Home Cattery allowed me to gain experience with animals as it was my responsibility to make sure all the animals had a clean-living space, food and clean water. I found this work very rewarding, directly improving the animals' quality of life.
It also taught me how to notice small details and to clean to a high level.
Customer Sales Support at Deanta UK (2026-01 – Present)
In my Customer Sales Support role, I support customers throughout the sales process by preparing quotes, following up on quotations, and helping them with any questions they have. I assist the Internal Sales team by managing customer emails and covering their workload during periods of absence to ensure a high level of service is maintained. I also keep stockist contact details up to date, provide support to customers experiencing portal issues, and tour customers round the showroom when required.
These responsibilities have helped me build strong communication, organisation, and customer service skills, while increasing my confidence and experience within internal sales.
Acquisitions Assistant (Submissions Department and Editorial Department) at Austin Macauley Publishers (2024-09 – 2025-12)
Working at Austin Macauley Publishers introduced me to the world of publishing whilst allowing me to gain the skills in which needed to carry out sales and generating contracts. Whilst developing bonds with authors/clients, I was able to carry out the sale of a hybrid publishing contract and provide them a greater understanding of the company and business as whole. I also was able to discuss with potential clients what their queries and concerns were to ensure that we were the right company for them.
Receptionist and Administration at Thomas Walker Surgery (2022-07 – 2024-08)
When at work I was placed on front reception or on the phones which posed a range of challenges such as aggressive or unhappy patients, language barriers with patients who are deaf or with patients who do not have English as their first language, patients who need appointments. I needed to triage them at the front reception to ensure we were able to give them the correct care, I also was finding out where to put the patients that are ringing from the emergency phone. I overcame these challenges and learnt how to do them correctly and time efficiently which increased my confidence and also helped aid in keeping the patients happy and content which I believe would help me in fulfilling this role.
I also had the role of "Notice Board Lead" which allowed me to express creativity and skills in excel, publisher and powerpoint. During being a "Notice Board Lead" I learnt to organise our boards and what would be best to express to our patients and outside clients to show our other services and outside links.
Customer Service and Administrative at Bumble Campers (2021-11 – 2022-05)
I also received guidance on how to work and talk to customers correctly during the time I spent working there and this helped me when I first started working at Thomas Walker which aided me in training as I quickly grew more confident with ranges of patients such as aggressive patients and ones that English wasn't their first language.
