I am a highly accomplished professional communicator with nearly two decades of experience in various media roles and with the federal government. My responsibilities have encompassed the development of public messaging and the creation of content and strategies that effectively support and advance the goals and priorities of my agency. My daily workload is characterized by complexity and unpredictability, often necessitating independent decision-making on sensitive issues of national significance.

Serves as the Lead Public Affairs Specialist and Acting Deputy State Director of Communications for the Bureau of Land Management, California State Office. Advises four district public affairs officers (PAOs), and serves as the team lead for one visual information specialist, one new media lead, and another public affairs specialist on communication planning and strategies that align with national- or state-level goals or objectives. Serves as State Office spokesperson for media.

Proposes, coordinates, organizes, and facilitates media interviews with subject matter experts, and works closely with our congressional liaison and the communications staff in district and field offices to coordinate state-wide activities of widespread interests. Approves press and informational releases for distribution to news media and to the public, including articles, op-eds, content for social media or feature items on both technical and non-technical subjects.
