I'm writing to express my excitement and interest in the Chef position you have advertised. I have worked in the culinary industry for over 34 years, with over 20 years of experience as a Sous Chef and Executive Chef positions before turning to Culinary education as an instructor for 13 plus years. As a professional with a passion for cooking and service, I'm excited at the prospect of an opportunity to expand my craft and learn with a new team of chefs.
In my current role as the Executive Chef , I perform various duties in the kitchen environment, including prepping food for class instruction, enforcing food safety through teaching and proctoring the Servsafe Manager exam, creating menus, writing class curriculum, as well as all purchasing and receiving. I also use various skills, such as leadership, time management, problem-solving and communication, to ensure the proper coordination and collaboration of chefs and servers to produce the best customer service and efficiency possible while adhering to the budget.
