Nicole Wakelin

As a teaching assistant and house manager I have diverse skillset that has enabled me to excel in both roles. In my capacity as a teaching assistant, I possess a deep understanding of the subject matter and are adept at explaining complex concepts to students in a clear and concise manner. Additionally, I possess strong organizational and administrative skills that allow me to manage various aspects of the classroom, such as grading, attendance, and lesson planning. As a house manager, I am skilled at coordinating and overseeing various aspects of the household, such as cleaning, maintenance, and scheduling. Additionally, I have strong interpersonal skills that allow me to communicate effectively with other members of the household, such as family members or other staff members. Overall, my combination of skills and expertise make me a valuable asset in both the classroom and the household.

I have experience in teaching as a Teaching Assistant for electrical courses, including lesson planning, marking tests, and facilitating shop activities. I am familiar with standard safety procedures in electrical work and are comfortable with using office equipment. I also have experience as an Electrical Technician, with knowledge of conduit bending, installation of electrical equipment, and blue print reading. Additionally, I have experience in Social Service Work as a Placement Counsellor, completed intake assessments, facilitated group workshops, and de-escalated crisis calls. The individual also has work experience as a Team Lead, Facilities Management, and Customer Service Representative. .

My most relevant education includes a BS in Business Management from National American University, completed in 2019. I also have a Pre-Apprenticeship Electrical Training from North American Trade Schools in 2014, a Criminal Justice Services Diploma from Sheridan College in 2013, and a Social Service Worker Diploma from the same institution in 2011. Additionally, I hold certificates in Crisis Prevention Intervention, Intake Training, Presentation Training, and Leadership Training, all from Friends & Advocates of Peel in 2010. I also hold an OSSD from Brampton Centennial Secondary School in 2007.
