Product Specialist TV, AV & Audio at John Lewis Partnership (2023-01 – 2025-01)
Leveraging extensive experience as a brand representative, I possess a proven track record of implementing best practices that streamlined sales processes and contributed to a 5% above-average store performance from 2023 to 2025. In a supervisory capacity, I ensure team readiness, attend, organise and facilitate in person and in house manufacturer training, cascade vital information, and support range changes in line with brand vision, consistently driving positive changes in store layout, sales, and overall performance.
Senior Sales Specialist, Sony UK at John Lewis Solihull (2013-01 – 2023-01)
As a Sony Sales Specialist, I rapidly advanced from Brand Representative, embracing the competitive multi-brand environment to consistently drive sales, increasing Sony's share of business from 12% to over 30% and regularly exceeding 36% in value share for four years. I achieved this by building strong relationships with store colleagues and management, coordinating successful training events, implementing effective sales techniques, and securing prime product placements. My strategic contributions culminated in leading a complete overhaul of the John Lewis Solihull floor plan, in collaboration with floor management, optimizing the customer journey and increasing product visibility.
Store Manager at Birmingham Sony Centre (2008-01 – 2013-01)
Since joining the Sony Centre I have become proficient in customer service and sales techniques and have acquired key management skills that include keeping staff members focused and enthusiastic and training employees regarding new procedures, products and general day-to-day duties. Together with colleagues we planned, presented and was part of the installation of a Sony VAIO experience within the store. This gave me the ability to organize and promote event-based projects such as open evenings and presentations.
I was awarded an 'Innovation' award for providing a full demonstration of various Sony VAIO products to a local solicitors' firm that translated into a B2B sale of multiple laptops and accessories totalling £60k. During this time we were awarded runner up to Sony Centre of the year coming in third out of over two hundred and fifty stores.
Sales Assistant at Birmingham Sony Centre (2006-01 – 2008-01)
Before being promoted to management I was a sales assistant within the same store. Sales were the key component to this position and ensuring that my own and the stores targets and KPI's were achieved was imperative to this role. Though I excelled as part of the sales team I've always embraced new challenges and had shown interest in progressing to a management level prior to my promotion.
Sales Assistant/ Assistant Store Manager at Solihull Home Zone (2004-01 – 2006-01)
This was a different type of sales role and one that focus more on stock availability than selling. With this role stock was key to success and not having a delivery system to fall back on meant we had to maintain our stock levels daily to ensure we had the correct products available to take away and key products were never out of stock. During this time between myself and the store manager we maintained our key product areas and focused our attention on weaker areas and introduced new revenue streams.
This increased the stores overall performance by a further 40 percent year on year.
General Kitchen Assistant at Charlton House Catering (2003-01 – 2004-01)
The ability to both think and work under pressure, as a team member were essential in this fast-paced environment. I attended Food Hygiene courses as part of my training. Along with general duties of food preparation; kitchen and front of house work areas were required to be kept at a high standard of cleanliness at all times.
Sales Assistant at Birmingham Sony Centre (2001-01 – 2003-01)
As a junior staff member my main duties were to handle customer enquiries, display and organise products from TVs to cables, and to maintain the highest level of product knowledge and store cleanliness.
